Well, I'm a bit of a moon watching, moon loving, space and science geek, and when the Artemis II mission (in the Integrity capsule) went around the far side of the moon earlier this year, I was spellbound. When the Integrity crew tried to describe what it was like to see that side of the moon and Earth, Houston responded with: "Copy, Moon Joy."
It still brings tears to my eyes. That level of awe, and gratitude, and the sheer beautiful humanness of the mission.
So I've launched (see what I did there? :-)) Moon Joy Bakery as an ode and homage to that wonderful crew, to our shared humanity in our love for baked goodies, and for my mom, whose middle name was Joy.
I have dreamed of owning my own bakery business since I worked as an assistant pastry chef at The Daily Bread Bakery in Boulder, CO when I was attending college at the University of Colorado. Through many life changes and experiences since those early years, that dream still held true. I'm finally in a position to make it come true and am so excited to share my journey and love of baking with all of you!
